He lives on!

The 56 year-old father had written 25 books, published over 200 articles and was a motivational speaker at a constant stream of seminars. He was the best counsellor when his family needed to talk.

He was a healthy man. He did not smoke or drink. He played basketball twice a week with men half his age.

Seven months ago it was a busy, happy Sunday. The couple dined in a fine restaurant with their eldest son's prospective employers and came home. Later he kissed his wife goodnight and stayed up to watch a basketball game on television.

His wife awoke to discover he died during the night. The cause was undiagnosed athersclerosis.

For 28 years he called my husband and me, "Mama and Daddy". We called our son-in-law, Dr. Richard Gerson, son.

We shall miss and love him always.

I counsel our daughters every day and many nights and even tho she responds it's an uphill struggle to keep her functioning. She is a college professor and thankfully having those classes this week is helping her sleep a little better. God's plan is certainly at work in my family. Our youngest son-in-law was killed, along with my daughter's beloved dog, in a highway accident at age 37. That daughter now comforts my other daughter in ways I cannot for she has walked a similar path. Her strength during these painful times sustains us.

Outpatient surgery is scheduled for Friday March 6th to further diagnose lymphoma Class B cells that were discovered in the needle biopsies. I pray for strength to guide my family through this difficult time. Please help us understand, accept and believe God's plan.; ▶ Reply to This
